Meet our new Associate Principal

This year Rangitoto College has welcomed a new Associate Principal, Peter Morton. Peter brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the college from his time teaching both locally and internationally. He commenced his teaching career at Auckland Grammar School in 1998 where he taught Physical Education and Health. He then taught in the UK for two years in a coeducational school before returning to Auckland Grammar. He has held various leadership positions as a Dean, Director of Boarding and Deputy Headmaster.

We are delighted that Peter has chosen to join our Senior Leadership Team, where his responsibilities include student wellbeing and pastoral systems. Peter is a local North Shore resident and says, "when the chance came up to potentially be involved in the school, it was too good an opportunity."

"I have for many years been impressed with the progress of the College on New Zealand’s educational landscape and as a school leader in education."

Committed to growing those around him and developing the capability of both staff and students, Peter hopes to bring a fresh set of eyes to the pastoral realm of the College. He admires the collaborative approach of the Senior Leadership Team and is excited to contribute to it.

Peter especially appreciates the vast array of opportunities and support available to our students—a benefit of being a large school. This extends beyond the classroom, contributing to the vibrant and positive student and staff culture of Rangitoto College.

We are excited to have Peter in our Rangitoto College community and look forward to the growth of the pastoral aspects of the college, as well as wider school life, under his leadership.
