Rangitoto’s golden ten days of summer involved our teams stunning the Auckland and New Zealand secondary schools volleyball community. Our teams made history!


Our Premier Boys team, captained by Ethan Skelton, had the perfect season winning all five competitions entered.   

New Zealand Secondary Schools—placed first and the first-ever Rangitoto team to win this event.

Auckland Championship—placed first for the first time in 13 years.

Premier League—placed first.

Harbour Super League—placed first.

Harbour Seeding Tournament—placed first.

On the back of this unprecedented success, a number of individuals were recognised in tournament teams.

National Tournament Team: Ethan Skelton MVP, Connor Oakley, Lucas Payne, Nico Lietz

Our Premier Girls captained by Kaia Buckley also had a stellar season.

New Zealand Secondary Schools—bronze medal.

Auckland Championship—placed first and the first Rangitoto girls team to win this event.

Premier League—placed first.

Harbour Super League—placed first.

Individual Honours achieved were:

NZ Tournament Team: Honoka Maeda

Auckland Championship Girls Tournament Team: Kiana Stevenson MVP, Shauna Li, Kirsty Laming, Honoka Maeda


The Rangi B Boys were also in action over summer sports week and excelled by winning the first-ever Senior North Island Satellite Tournament. A huge achievement for our future stars.


In achieving these results Rangitoto became the first school to win both the Auckland Championship Senior titles in the same year.
